   WHO AM I

My name is Todd Symborski and I love bicycles. I've had bicycles since I was able to ride one as a kid, from having new bikes to rebuilding old and newer bikes alike.

Over the last few years I got into either getting frames from friends or purchasing frames online and building bicycles from the ground up, mostly with all new parts. So far I currently ride an entry level mountain bike I bought new in 2002 (GIANT), a rental fat bike (Surly) I bought from a local bike shop last year and a 2005 comfort bike that I rebuilt and currently upgrading (Specialized).

Last winter (2017), I decided I wanted to get into bikepacking (basically hiking with a bike). I researched it, purchased all the bags, packs and other gear. In the spring of 2017 I went on my first bikepacking outing on the North Central State Trail from Gaylord to Indian River ( approx. 32 miles) and loved it.

I also started riding the local  rail trails and plan on riding as many as I can in 2018, documenting them and taking video.

The purpose of this site is to share my experiences in bike riding around the state of Michigan, review bikes , gear and to hear and learn from other like minded folks from around the state.
