Started in 2017, using tax returns for bike projects or bike purchases:
1. In 2017 I purchased my 2014 Surly Pugsley Special Ops. This was my first Surly and it was a rental bike from new at Ray's Bike shop in Midland, Mi.
2. In 2018 I built my first new bike (2nd Surly) from the frame set up, a 2018 Surly Troll (updated 2017 frame set).
3. In 2019 I built my 2nd new bike (3rd Surly) from the frame set up, a 2019 Surly Midnight Special.
4. For 2020 I'm in the process of upgrading my 2018 Surly Troll instead of building another bike this year. I'm having a new wheelset built at Ray's Bike Shop in Bay City Mi., using WTB Scraper i40 26 inch rims (40mm wide) , DT Swiss 350 front and rear hubs. In addition I'm changing over from rim brakes (Shimano V-brakes) to TRP Spyke mechanical disc brakes. Last year I purchased a pair WTB Ranger 2.8/3.0 tires for the Troll and are just too wide for my Mavic wheelset. The newer Troll frame is designed for 26 + tires, up to 3 inches wide.
