The Vassar Rail Trail weaves through the small community of Vassar, Michigan. The trail segment built on a former railroad corridor is located on the western bank of the Cass River and is perhaps the most scenic stretch. At the end of S. Cass Avenue, the Townsend North Pavilion and park offers a pleasant place to relax.
West of the park, the trail courses through the woods to a neighborhood near active railroad tracks. To the east, the trail crosses the E. Huron Avenue / M-15 bridge over the Cass River before running south along S. Water Street and Proctor Street to a local supermarket. Total length of the trail is 2.0 miles.
